There’s a Dirty Little Secret in the World of Google Pay-Per-Click Today

There’s a dirty little secret in the world of Pay-Per-Click (PPC) today. Whatâ??s more, publishers making money off you and your daily ad spend, really don’t like talking about it. What does this mean for you, and how can you overcome it?

It seems everyone involved in marketing is talking-up the benefits of Google Pay-Per-Click (PPC). But is it really good for you? The truth for most of advertisers is this;

Google PPC Just Isn’t Working for You as Well As It Should

But the problem is not with your keywords, ad structure or ad text. You likely sweat bullets working at these aspects of each ad. Whatâ??s more, you may find the right keywords and ad text so good, it can make even your most jaded prospect sit up and click. So far, so good â?” your PPC ad is doing its job.

But the structure and content of any Google ad is only a small part of whatâ??s actually needed to make PPC advertising work for you.

And this leads us to Google PPCâ??s dirty little secret;

Making it Work for You is Nowhere Near as Easy as it Appears

And thatâ??s not the worst of it. Let me help you understand why this is so. You see, getting people to click on your ad is actually the easy part. But creating great ads with the right keywords and bidding the right amounts really doesnâ??t count for much towards a campaignâ??s ultimate success.

Unless the web page youâ??re sending your prospects to is doing its job properly. And the majority of landing pages associated with Google PPC â?” well, gosh they simply donâ??t work nearly as well as they should.

Please do me this small favor, because what follows is critical to your online business success. To get that sale, sign-up or whatever other action you desire from your prospect, you need to build a solid bridge between the click…and the result you ultimately wish to achieve.

Remember I asked you at the beginning how you overcome the negative effect of this secret? Well here are ten elements of winning landing pages that can help you truly build a strong bridge between your PPC ad, and the action you ultimately want your prospect to take;

1. Itâ??s imperative that your landing page is working in conjunction with your Google ad text. Has your page been specifically tailored to do so? If it hasnâ??t â?” itâ??s likely a sign of trouble. And itâ??s sheer lunacy to use your home page. Because itâ??s very unlikely your home page is anywhere near specific enough to be associated with your Google ads.

2. Does your landing page contain elements which make it appear personal? Tests prove people buy far more frequently when they feel like theyâ??re interacting with a real person. To achieve this, you need to use conversational language your prospect would use. Make text feel like a conversation between you and your online prospect.

3. Do you have a spokesperson pictured prominently on the page, looking your prospect squarely in the eyes when they arrive? This builds trust. Make sure the photo is of good quality and well-lit.

4. Is the headline at the top of your landing page grabbing your prospects by the eyeballs, and does it contain text that relates to the â?˜call to actionâ?? in your Google ad?

5. Is your landing page â?˜in-syncâ?? with your PPC ad text? No prospect should be too surprised by what they see in the first 8 seconds after they arrive. Or theyâ??ll likely kiss you goodbye. At an average per-click cost of say, 60 cents, that expensive 8 seconds works out to an ad cost to you of $270 per hour.

If youâ??re advertising a particular product in your ad, make sure they can see the item when they land, without scrolling.

6. Eliminate unneeded elements â?” avoid distracting your potential customer.

7. Remember, most people on the internet don’t trust you (not yet, anyway). Yes, itâ??s unfair. So have trust elements clearly displayed in the margins of your landing page. Prove youâ??re hacker free with one of the online security service shields. If you belong to Square Trade, Online Business Bureau or Better Business Bureau (BBB), display their logo or shield prominently. Show your returns policy.

8. If you want your prospect to fill in a form, make sure the form has only a few steps. Three is okay. Two is better. You can always get more info from them later by email. For example, if you want them to sign-up for a newsletter, require only first name and address.

9. Include testimonials from your satisfied clients or customers. Donâ??t have any yet? Give a few items away for free and get their feedback.

10. Test, test and test again. Winning online is a process of continual improvement. You should always be trying to optimize your landing page and recording results. If possible, split-test (have at least two landing pages that alternate automatically) at all times. Software to do this, easily and automatically, is readily available on the net.

SEO to Become a Dinner Party Topic

Thanks to a ground-breaking agreement between Dell and Google, SEO may soon be a mainstream topic of conversation. Dell, the world’s leading maker of personal computers, has announced that it is testing a pre-installed package of Google software, including a Google-powered Dell home page, Google Desktop Search, and a Google Toolbar.

While the home page and Desktop Search will be an undeniable boost to Google’s share of the Search market, and maybe even a threat to Microsoft’s desktop dominance, it’s the pre-installation of the Google Toolbar that will be of most interest to SE marketers and optimizers around the world.

Currently a specialist ‘industry tool’ used predominantly by SE practitioners, the Google Toolbar may soon be automatically available to hundreds of thousands of mainstream computer users. As a result, Google PageRank and, by extension, search engine marketing and optimization look set to become part of mainstream vocabulary. (Well, maybe that’s a little optimistic… Perhaps they’re more likely to become part of the vocab of the computer savvy mainstream.)

So what does this all mean to SEO and SEM? In my humble opinion, the four most important implications of the Dell-Google agreement are:

1) Business decision makers will finally ‘get’ SEO

Although not overly helpful to SEMs and SEOs, Google PageRank is an ideal hook for busy decision makers. It’s very simple (in that it’s just a mark out of ten) and measurable, and it’s just THERE; you don’t have to go out of your way to see the PageRank of a site. It’s exactly what decision makers need to get their collective heads around SEO. They don’t have the time or inclination to understand the complexities of SERPs, IBLs, spiders, indexing, keyword phrases, metatags, article PR, SEO copywriting, etc. For better or worse, PageRank eliminates all shades of gray, leaving the two colors many decision makers understand best: black and white.

2) Business will become aware of the importance of PageRank

While most business decision makers are aware that a good search engine ranking is good for business, they’re not yet aware that a bad PageRank is bad for business. But with the Google Toolbar at their disposal, they soon will be. Decision makers will immediately start to use PageRank as a one-shot assessment of the credibility and authority of every website they visit. And in the process, they’ll become painfully aware of what their own PageRank says about their company.

3) Business will be more Search-proactive

Once decision makers realize that a bad PageRank is bad for business, they’ll be more likely to be proactive about their search engine ranking.

4) More businesses will dedicate a budget to Search

PageRank will become just a part of ‘doing business’. Just like TV, radio, and newspapers, it will be proactively communicating with decision makers, each and every day. While the mechanics of a high search ranking will remain a mystery to most, the Search DOMAIN will no longer be considered a black art, and SEMs and SEOs will no longer be considered witch-doctors. This will make decision makers far more comfortable dedicating a budget to Search (especially as they now have something measurable to grab a hold of - see point 1 above).

Conclusion

It appears that Google has once again made a very astute business decision. For better or worse, they’ve improved their position in Search and made significant inroads into the desktop software market. Will they threaten Microsoft’s desktop dominance? We’ll have to wait ‘n see. Will they enrich the SEM / SEO industry? In my humble opinion, yes! Google may not be everyone’s favorite search engine, but if they bring PageRank into the mainstream, the Search industry will finally attract the percentage of corporate advertising spend it deserves.

The Truth About Global Marketing With Article Marketing

Thanks to the vast reaches of the internet, global marketing is now possible for the average business owner, either the large corporation or the small privately run entity, to narrow the geographic divide.

The main point of search engine optimization (SEO) and reaching a global audience is not only to drive traffic to your site, but also to then convert those visitors from all over the world into paying customers. Web traffic and the ensuing exposure are nice, of course, but if those hits don’t improve business and increase sales, what purpose do they really serve?

The Prime Components of Global Marketing With Article Marketing

Creating a Website

For article marketing to have even a chance at being effective, it’s imperative for all businesses to have their own websites to link back to when submitting articles to search engines and article directories. Also, having your own domain name is always preferable over using a free site, as it lends an authentic feel that tells people they’re dealing with a real company that’s serious about their online business ventures.

Be sure to include your website address on all of your marketing materials, both online and off. Your business cards, banner ads, forum and blog posts, as well as every article you submit for publication should all have your site’s URL, which should be something easy to spell and remember.

Global Promotion Using Articles

Successful global promotion must include a set plan that features a number of effective methods for spreading the word about your business or products. The distribution of press releases announcing important details and providing a newsworthy story about your business, as well as submitting your articles to article databases and posting them on blogs, will also help to get your name recognized quickly.

A well-written, full-length article on a particular niche or topic is a perfect addition to the innumerable snippets of information the many popular blogs feature. But wherever you decide post your articles, don’t forget the all-important resource box for providing the pertinent details people will need to do business with you. This, of course, will include your website and email addresses, but may also include a brief biography about you or your company, along with other bits of contact data such as location and telephone or fax numbers.

Providing Accurate, Useful Information

By providing accurate information in your articles along with an irresistible or enticing offer when people arrive at your website, the chances of converting the casual visitor into a paying customer dramatically increase. It definitely pays off in the long run to take the time to explore and thoroughly research all avenues when it comes to expanding your business globally using article marketing and the various related techniques for increasing customer base and revenue.

Email Marketing

Email marketing can be an excellent way to globally promote your business, either through legitimate lists of email addresses that you can purchase, or through lists that you’ve collected yourself from visitors who’ve been to your site, or through some other means of internet marketing. Email marketing is similar to the direct mail type, but without the need to spend money on postage and mailing expenses, and is also the perfect extension to article marketing.

Global marketing utilizing the benefits of article marketing truly is the easiest and most cost-effective way of expanding business and your contacts, as well as reaching new and impressive sales records that may not have been possible before.

Introducing Google Concept

What is Google Concept?

Google Concept is a software tool that combines the Google search engine with a mind-mapping application.

Mind mapping, otherwise also known as concept mapping, is a method used in business, training and education to put thoughts onto paper. It is often seen used as a means of recording brainstorming sessions, project planning and analysis.

Traditionally, such mind mapping has been done on flip charts or paper but increasingly a range of computer programs has been available to enable maps to be produced on a laptop or desktop computer.

To look at, a mind map would often seem to resemble a tree or a spider web. At its center is a central topic or idea. From this central topic, lines shoot out like branches. Each line links a subtopic or theme. Further lines emanate from each subtopic and link to smaller subtopics or ideas. As you move along a line from the center outwards, you see your original topic broken down further and further into more precise concepts.

Each topic and subtopic is represented by a word, a phrase or an image, or a combination of these. The power of a mind map is that a large, complex or, maybe, vague, central topic can be explored and broken down into smaller, manageable and more tangible ideas. A mind map can also show the relationship between ideas and the original topic. Another power of mind mapping is that oneâ??s thoughts can become more focused upon specifics rather than trying to grapple with a large vacuous concept.

Essentially, mind maps deal with ideas and information. These ideas and information become more focused and specific as the topic becomes more broken down.

The idea behind Google Concept is that it takes the central topic and the subtopics and treats them as keywords. These keywords can then automatically be used in a Google search, the results of which can be linked into the mind map. When complete, the mind map has not only broken down the original topic into subtopics but it also has links to information at each point in the form of related websites.

In this way, a business man can plan a new project or explore a new proposal using a mind map in the usual way but also, instantly, he has a collection of links to related websites from which to gain further information. Including, one supposes, information about similar projects, rival firms and possible alternatives.

A student or school kid could use a mind map to explore ideas around a topic of study. As they break down the topic, Google Concept will provide links from which the student or pupil can gain more information and background material to support their study.

All in all, Google Concept appears to be a powerful new tool with a lot of potential. As more and more people learn about mind maps and use them, so Google Concept could become a more natural way of searching for information on an ever expanding Internet.

There is only one problem. Google Concept does not yet exist. I write this article in the hope that it finds its way in front of the guys at Google who might take it up and invite me to discuss it with them.

Douglas Woods is a teacher, ICT trainer and Life Coach in the UK who uses mind mapping as a tool. You can find out more about him on his website.

Beating Adwords Review - Tame Adwords and Beat Your Competition

Beating Adwords is another one of those books that promises to teach you all the tricks that the so called professional marketeers are using, to make a substantial living using pay per click advertising to sell affiliate products.Predominantly although not exclusively the book focuses on using Google Adwords to promote Clickbank affiliate products. The book is written by Kyle and Carson the founders of the Wealthy Affiliate, who are reportedly making in excess of $60,000 a month employing the techniques detailed in Beating Adwords.

The book starts off by explaining who the Wealthy Affiliates are, how it is possible to make money online and a brief synopsis of what an affiliate is and a description of pay per click advertising.

The book then continues at level which beginners and more savvy marketeers will find comfortable, although having already setup a Google Adwords account and Clickbank affiliate id, I could quite easily have skipped these sections.Although strangely I found myself reading these just to make sure I hadn’t missed any little trick.

The book takes you through a smooth learning curve, as your knowledge increases so do the technical aspects. The book covers the whole spectrum of techniques you will need to use to become successful using adwords, it is not one of those books that gives you the theory and then expects you to go and find all the missing bits the authors chose not to include, every tip and trick is covered, from split testing your ads to writing great ad copy it is all in the book.

You also get 2 sales page templates to get you started selling ‘Beating Adwords’ with an associated keyword list. I use the techniques I have learned from this book on a daily basis, I actually have a shortcut from my desktop to the book, despite the fact that I had already been successfully affiliate marketing when I bought this book, with the methods taught my costs have decreased and my profits have increased.

Succeeding In Internet Marketing With A PPC Strategy

A unique instrument, Pay Per Click (PPC) marketing is most commonly used by e-commerce sites to draw pre-qualified traffic to your internet business. In case you are not familiar with the words PPC then type a common term, like “cars” in Google. You will come up with an index of approximately 10 natural or free searches besides which you will also notice PPC ads that are displayed at the sides and top of the majority of search results in Google.

These commercials look very much like the index of free search result but they all are commercials deliberately placed by businesses to attract targeted traffic to their websites. At my website of natural skin care, you might come across my ad under the words like “natural soap”. I pay only when somebody clicks on that commercial. This enables me to fix the highest amount I am ready to shell out for a commercial click. A few key words, that is, the terms used in search engines, are not expensive and may cost little per word. However, the majority of keywords have a competitive edge and the keywords that have a high demand, like refinance, may come at quite a few dollars for each click.

PPC advertising appears to be the Holy Grail to most newcomers just beginning their first site of e-commerce. However, it should be handled both with some caution and careful planning. Choosing a keyword that has poor performance can cost you heavily.

The following are some important ways to a successful pay per click marketing campaign:

* Install a tracking code in your website - every PPC ad host like Google, MSN Yahoo!, provides code snippets that you can keep in your checkout process on your site, letting you to track the keywords that really pull sales to your e-commerce. This method alone is enough for using PPC - what your publicity medium can help you in tracking?

* Calculate a cost per sale that your budget can bear. Usually, your cost per sale should be linked to the profit you can get from making a sale. Basically, cost per sale is your total PPC spend divided by the number of sales you make. If you spend $100 and make 10 sales that your Cost Per Sale comes to $10. I have given an overview of my cost per sale for October 2007 at the end of this article. For everyone this may have different meaning, but my average sale runs about $40 and my average cost per sale approximately $15. Probably I break even on the first sale - my plan is to develop repeat clients and make substantial profit on the second and the following sales.

* Keep a close look at what you are spending. When you first begin with a PPC campaign you may spend more than what you can afford. You need to do this for sometime letting the law of averages to catch up and conclude what keywords do the trick for you. I would suggest letting your campaign run on a real set of keywords for almost thirty days before an appraisal of your campaign. All this while you will be looking after developing a set of keywords that work for you.

I sincerely hope that you and your business find this information useful.

The Best SEO Practices - 4 All Important Facts To Consider When Using SEO

SEO or search engine optimization is a big factor to consider in your online business. The most successful webmasters tend to concentrate more of their efforts to ensuring there is highly targeted traffic traveling to their websites on a consistent basis. While it is pleasant to see a large amount of traffic flowing to your websites, it could have a negative impact on your site. By applying the best SEO practices you will ensure that only high targeted traffic visits your website. This is critical to your online success. I will reveal 4 important factors that can help you drive in the desired traffic you are seeking for easily.

1. Traffic

SEO was created to help webmasters to increase their traffic to their site. Most websites are built to be viewed by people searching for information on the internet and search engines like Google and Yahoo are extremely important in helping website owners accomplish this goal. Search engines hold a great deal of power and should be taken seriously. To become a powerful presence on the internet you need to be able to take advantage of the power search engines.

Consider this: About 90% of all internet users make use of search engines like Google, Yahoo, MSN, and other search engines to help them in their online activities. Most users utilize Google as their main search engine. Google generates about 70% of all search related activity on the internet.

2. Getting a targeted visitor

One of the most successful marketing strategies a webmaster can use is to perform targeted searches. This marketing technique is not like other techniques, where you could possibly fall short of targeting the correct visitor. These successful webmasters know how to divide their market and filter in the right kind of people a specific product, service, or any other specified content. Usually, people are looking for topics they have an interest in, and by you providing the right market to that visitor, will have a definite impact on your business.

3. Behavior of the search engines

Search engines are in no way different than people, they prefer websites that contain quality information about a topic relevant to what the person is searching for. Sites that rank high on the search engines appear there because they are very popular among people as well as the search engines. To have your site ranked on the first page is a great accomplishment to aim for.

4. Cost Effectiveness

It takes more than knowledge to expand your internet presence to it fullest potential. Optimizing your website will seem like a full-time job and will have an extremely long learning curve, and because of this, most webmasters turn to using SEO tools or using a SEO service to help them with this process. Hiring a SEO firm or expert can be risky. Before you make any deal, you should check out their creditability, the quality of their work, and pricing. Doing so will save you a big headache and a loss of funds.

By keeping these 4 points in mind, you should focus you effort into what is important to your business which is surviving on the internet. In order for your business to succeed online, you need traffic, but highly targeted traffic. Whether you choose to use a SEO firm or use SEO tools and do it yourself, search engine optimization is critical to your online success. Take another look at the 4 factors above and start completing the best SEO practices to assure you get the results you have been working for.

Everything You Wanted To Know About Google — But Were Afraid To Search For!

(A Reflective look at the little search engine that soared!)

All knowing, all seeing, ever present!

Google has permeated into almost every aspect of life on this planet and beyond. It has become a mainstream fixture for computer and Internet users around the globe. All the while, cementing its position as the only real facilitator of the world’s collective intelligence.

Can you remember a day when you have not Googled?

But Google’s reach doesn’t stop with the mouse or the cursor. It has moved beyond the computer screen, snapping up resources, sites, and people at a frighteningly steady pace. Perhaps, the first indication Google wasn’t just satisfied with staying within the wired confines of the world wide web was when it partnered with universities such as Harvard, Oxford, Stanford and others, to scan and index the contents of their libraries — then making this material accessible through Google Print.

Then it casted its aspirations heavenward with the introduction of Google Maps and Google Earth. Mapping services that bring the world’s geographic information into view, it is as if Google had literally ascended, watching us from far and near, tracking our every move as well as our every keystroke. Even using satellite imagery to provide it with eyes in the sky; leading one to wonder, from those lofty heights can divinity be far behind?

All kidding aside, Google, whether it wants to or not, is developing a god-like reverence in the eyes of many. But is this such a leap of faith? Is the idea of Google as a god-like force in our lives so preposterous? so ludicrous? so sacrilegious?

In prehistoric times, pagans used to worship the sun gods. Ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome all had their gods who satisfied the basic human need we have to believe in a superior being or force. They even raised ordinary humans who displayed unusual courage or bravery up to a god-like status. Are we now entering into a new post-modern pagan era — will we be worshipping at the feet of Google?

Not really, we treat all our knowledge givers with respect, some even reach a god-like status. We raise them up above the crowd, give them special meaning or reverence in our lives. Humans have been doing this since we stood upright and walked on the plains of Africa. The shaman or high priest of ancient times — holders of the secret rites, holders of a group’s history or knowledge; we show these people respect and we elevate them to a higher status.

Google falls into this category.

And Google does deserve some respect, as far as the search engine market goes, whether it’s wearing a halo or a cursor — Google is still the only game in town. According to Alexa, a company that tracks web traffic, the top three sites on the Web are 1. Yahoo, 2. MSN, and 3. Google. However, when you compare where people go on these sites — search.yahoo.com accounts for only 9% of Yahoo’s traffic and search.msn.com only 7% of MSN’s total traffic; whereas most of Google’s traffic is search traffic. This is a big distinction.

And what about the purchasing power of these search engines; latest data presented by Score Networks, Inc. shows MSN searchers at 48%, Google searchers at 42% and Yahoo at 31%. That is Google searchers were 42% more likely to purchase online than the regular Internet user.

Another aspect of Google’s commercial might is its online advertising system. Through its Adsense and Adword programs, Google has commercialize and monetized most of the web’s free content. Depending on your opinions or stand, this may be good or bad. Regardless of viewpoints, Google has been more than generous with sharing this ad

revenue with all concerned parties — content providers, web writers and journalists, professional bloggers, ordinary webmasters and marketers — all have reaped the benefits of these programs.

If you feed it with fresh high quality content — Google will take good care of you! In many cases, it can be argued that Google is subsidizing or facilitating the creation of quality content on the Net through its Adsense program.

Google’s dominance of all aspects of the Internet is also taking on a god-like force. It is acquiring and building at an almost god-like speed. Google Acquisitions include: Outride, Blogger, Neotonic Software, Applied Semantics, Ignite Logic, Genius Labs, Picasa, Keyhole, Urchin software… how did all this madness start?

Initially called BackRub, referring to the way it back linked to web sites, Google was founded by Stanford graduate students Larry Page and Sergey Brin. Google, the name itself is a play on the word googol, and refers to the number represented by 1 followed by 100 zeros… opened its doors on Sept. 7, 1998, in Menlo Park, California. It had a corporate staff of three. In 2004 Google offered its IPO with a price per share at $85. By June 7, 2005, Google was worth $80 billion, making it one of the world’s biggest media companies.

Perhaps, one of Google’s most brilliant (some believe absurd) moves, happened just recently. It has applied (via Nelson Minar, a Google Engineer), for patent rights to transmit ads through RSS feeds. Few people know, even more won’t believe, but the Internet has undergone a fundamental shift in how information is exchanged on the web. RSS stands for ‘Really Simple Syndication’ and was first popularized by blogs because blogs use XML and RSS feeds to syndicate their content.

Don’t come to us, we will deliver. People can view a site’s contents through RSS readers or an RSS equipped browser without actually going to the sites.

RSS will revolutionize the Internet. Microsoft in its Longhorn Statement has announced the next version of Windows will have RSS integrated into its Operating System. RSS applications, under the Creative Commons license, will change the way we use our computers and the Internet.

Google, if it is successful with this patent application will build on its already god-like status. The stakes are enormous and Google knows it. This patent could put Google directly into the mix, but the rewards are beyond belief! And that’s not all, there are rumors Google may be developing its own RSS powered operating system and browser. Why not, it has the resources and financial clout to easily carry out such an undertaking. Google is already the owner of the domain name “gbrowser.com”!

One can only wonder, is Google positioning itself to not only be the brains of the Internet but also placing itself into the very core of the nasty beast? Does it desire not only to be a mega hub, but also to be an innate part of the whole structure? Positioning itself, in essence, to becoming the web’s nervous system.

Any movement of data, information, or commerce on the Internet will have to pass through and be affected by the Google Factor. More or less, cementing Google’s influence on the whole scheme of things. And in the process, further weaving Google into the very fabric of our lives.

Now if that’s not God-like, nothing is.

How to Boost Your Web Site’s Rankings

There are loads of free options that you can do to improve and boost your home based business ratings with the search engines.

Tip 1 - Have a look at your Site Map.

It is always a good idea to have a site map installed on your home based business site, so that both humans and search engines can navigate easily around your site.

If you need to add a sitemap - it is free, just enter the term in Google,

Go to Google and do a search of your site like this,

Site:yourdomain.com

In fact while you are doing that that, check Yahoo, MSN etc, it will show you how your home based business site will look to the search engines,

Now look at the titles on your site, start with the most important pages, do they look interesting or not, if they are bland and boring, then rewrite them.

A better option is to write a few of your page titles down, now go and enter that some phrase into Google and have a look at the top 10 titles.

Which Titles catch your eye and tempt you to click? Some Titles are really awful, some are just a long list of keywords , are these titles better than yours, or can you improve on some of the titles that are on your page. Keep in mind that good titles are written for search engines and humans.

Do not stick to only your industry, have a look at other sites, you will soon have plenty of ideas on ways to improve your best home based business ideas page titles.

This step is very important especially if you have an established site, because you more than likely wrote your page titles and meta descriptions years ago.

Tip 2 - Organic SEO.

Search engines are improving all the time and they are gradually getting better at sifting out low quality websites and ranking them poorly, so if you want your home based business site to rank high, then build quality websites which contain genuinely useful material that other people want to link to,

If you want to improve your search engine optimisation on your home based business web site, then do the following,

  • You need to make it easy for a search engine to Figure out the topic of your page.
  • Find Appropriate keywords or key phrases and use them in the title, in the page heading, in the introduction, throughout the article, in the meta description, in the alt tags, at the end of the article, in links on the page, in bold or italics etc.
  • Use key phrases in your file names, like keyword 1, keyword2.html etc.
  • Use word variations and synonyms throughout your page.
  • Get links from other sites to internal pages as well as to your main page.
  • When linking to your pages, use appropriate keywords in the anchor text. Vary the anchor text in your page.

If you want more advice on SEO optimisation, just do a search in Google, you will find thousands of articles on this subject

Tip 3 - Submit to main directories.

The more high quality links that you have pointing to your home based business site, the more impressed the search engines will be and the higher your web site will be ranked.

Before you submit your site to a directory make sure that you read the submission rules carefully at each site. This will be time consuming, but it will increase your best home based business ideas web site’s chances of getting listed.

However be careful because if you start adding hundreds of links to your home based business web site on a daily basis, the search engines could treat your site as a spam site and bar your site.

Another good reason for submitting your site to search engine directories is that your listing can last for years. If the task of submitting to directories is a boring and tedious task, then get a 3rd party to do it on your behalf.

If you have a niche home based business website then you can submit your site to niche directories, for example directories on health or dating etc

Understanding Adsense

There are a lot of people out there making a lot of money using Adsense - however most of them are not telling their secrets - well not for free anyway.

I am going to assume a few things in this article to cut down the amount of introductory comments I have to make. Here is what I am assuming:

1. You have a blog/website. Most of the following tips will apply to other types of websites also.

2. You have read overview of Adsense and have some understanding of what it is.

3. You have read the program policies as outlined by Google. These give details of site eligibility, ad placements and other requirements for using the system.

The next question is: Is your blog suitable for Adsense? - Before you rush into signing up for Adsense expecting it to earn you a million dollars it is worth asking the question of whether Adsense is the right revenue strategy for your blog/Website.

There are some amazing success stories out there but I will be concentrating on only few elements that will impact your Adsense earning capacity the most:

Adsense revenue, traffic levels, high paying ads, relevant ads and optimally positioned and designed ads.

Every above elements contribute to the total revenue that your Adsense ads will produce. You should have all these elements as strong as possible, because otherwise it will hold back your potential earnings.

Traffic is of course very important, because the more people that see you Adsense Ads, the more likelihood there is that someone will click on them. Work on increasing your traffic levels and you should see an increase in your Adsense Revenue.

High paying ads are giving you the best payoff, if you don¡¦t have a list of high paying keywords, scroll down this article and click on the link on the bottom to go to getmemoney.net, and you will get 20 top paying adsense keywords to build your blog/website around.

Your ads have to be relevant. The ads are displayed by content of your blog/website, so increase the relevancy of your Ads to your content and you are one step closer to increasing your Adsense revenue.

The ads have to optimally positioned. You can choose any color scheme and position your ads anywhere on your blog/website, make sure they are visible and not outside content of your page. Put them in strategic places and blend them in the color scheme or your page.

How do you increase the traffic to your webpage then?

Quality, Interesting, Useful and Original Content - What are the blogs that people read the most? This is essential to increasing your readership unless you have some amazing trick to bring readers in.

Be generous with your links to other bloggers/websites big and small. You¡¦ll be surprised how many links come back your way. This not only brings traffic from their sites but helps your ranking in Google.

Update frequently. If you don’t update your blog/wesite content in over one month the previous interested readers will not come back.

In my next article I will be concentrating more on how to get more traffic to your website. Feel free to visit my getmemoney.net page (link below) for the highest paying adsense keywords at the monment.
